FIRM OVERVIEW

Wood, Rafalsky & Wood, LLP, located in Brooklyn, New York, is a corporate law Firm engaged in the general practice of law. The Firm provides diversified legal services to individuals and business entities, including commercial banks, manufacturing companies, professional and other services companies, health care entities, real estate development companies, cooperative housing corporations and not-for-profit institutions.

Departments and Practice Groups. In response to the increasing complexity and specialization of the practice of law, the Firm's legal practice is divided into four departments: General Corporate, Real Estate, Health Care, and Litigation. Each attorney in the Firm is an active member of one of the four departments and one or more practice groups. New practice groups are constantly under consideration in response to the ever changing needs of our clients. This organization, coupled with our commitment to close client relationships, enables us to provide legal services efficiently and economically. (See Departments)

Assignment of Attorneys. The Firm employs nine attorneys as well as paraprofessional and support staff. As a general matter, individual projects are screened by a partner and assigned to an attorney having the appropriate expertise and experience. Coordination and supervision are maintained by a Partner. A team of attorneys from several of the Firm's Departments often participate in a specialized practice group when an engagement involves multiple legal disciplines or sub-specialties. (See Partner Profiles)

Fees and Expenses. In general, fees for the Firm's services are determined on the basis of time devoted by attorneys and other paraprofessional personel. The Firm currently sets standard hourly charges for attorneys in relation to their level of experience and seniority. The Firm strives for maximum efficiency in the utilization of both professional and support personnel.

In establishing fees, the Firm also may consider the novelty and difficulty of the questions involved, any extraordinary time limitations imposed by the client or by the circumstances, the level of responsibility involved, the results obtained and the nature and length of the professional relationship with the client. By special agreement, the Firm accepts some matters on a fixed fee basis. Each matter is evaluated individually. New clients are requested to pay a retainer fee against which the initial fee for legal services will be charged.

In addition to compensation for legal services, clients reimburse the firm for necessary expenses advanced on their behalf, including costs such as long distance telephone calls, telecopied documents, travel, service of documents, courier services, recording and court filing fees, transcripts, and printing.
